Love Quotes From The Notebook Story

Source:- Google.com.pk

The Notebook is a 2004 American romantic drama film directed by Nick Cassavetes and based on the novel of the same name by Nicholas Sparks. The film stars Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams as a young couple who fall in love during the early 1940s. Their story is narrated from the present day by an elderly man (portrayed by James Garner) telling the tale to a fellow nursing home resident (played by Gena Rowlands, who is Cassavetes' mother). The Notebook received mixed reviews but performed well at the box office and received several award nominations, winning eight Teen Choice Awards, a Satellite Award and a MTV Movie Award. The film has gained a cult following. On November 11, 2012, ABC Family premiered an extended version with deleted scenes added back into the original storyline.

Plot
At a modern-day nursing home, an elderly man named Duke (James Garner) begins to read a romantic story from his notebook to a fellow patient (Gena Rowlands). The story he tells begins in June 6, 1940. In Seabrook Island, South Carolina, local country boy Noah Calhoun (Ryan Gosling) is smitten with seventeen-year-old heiress Allie Hamilton (Rachel McAdams) after seeing her at a carnival, and they share an idyllic summer love affair. Noah takes Allie to an abandoned house, which he explains that he intends to buy for them.
Later that evening, she asks him to make love to her, but they are interrupted by Noah's friend Fin (Kevin Connolly) with the news that Allie's parents have the police out looking for her. When Allie and Noah return to her parents' mansion, they ban her from seeing Noah, whom they called "trash, trash, trash". The two break up and the next morning, Allie's mother announces that the family is returning home to Charleston.
Noah and Allie have no choice but to move on with their lives; Noah and Fin enlist to fight in World War II and Fin is killed in battle. Allie becomes a volunteer in a hospital for wounded soldiers, where she meets an officer named Lon Hammond, Jr. (James Marsden), a young lawyer who is handsome, sophisticated, charming and comes from old Southern money. The two eventually become engaged, to the delight of Allie's parents, but Allie sees Noah's face when Lon asks her to marry him.
When Noah returns home from the war, he discovers his father has sold their home so that Noah can buy the abandoned house, fulfilling his lifelong dream to buy it for the departed Allie, whom by now he hasn't seen for several years. While visiting Charleston, Noah witnesses Allie and Lon kissing at a restaurant; he convinces himself that if he restores the house, Allie will come back to him. Later, Allie is startled to read in the newspaper that Noah has completed the house, and she visits him in Seabrook.
In the present, it is made clear that the elderly woman is in fact Allie, who is suffering from dementia and cannot remember any of the events being read to her. Duke, the man who is reading to her, is her husband, but Allie cannot recognize him.Back in the forties, Allie returns to Seabrook. She and Noah renew their relationship and make love at Noah's now-restored house. In the morning, Allie's mother appears on Noah's doorstep, warning Allie that a jealous Lon has followed her to Seabrook. Allie confesses to Lon that she has been spending time with Noah. He is upset but says that he still loves her. Allie tells him she knows she should be with him, but she remains indecisive.
In the present, Allie becomes briefly lucid and remembers that the story Duke is reading is the story of how they met. Young Allie appears at Noah's doorstep, having left Lon at the hotel. Elderly Allie suddenly remembers her past; after finding out about her illness, she herself wrote their story in the notebook with instructions for Noah to "read this to me, and I'll come back to you". But Allie soon relapses, losing her memories of Noah. She panics, not understanding who he is, and has to be sedated. That same night Noah is hospitalised with what seems to be another heart attack.
When released from the hospital, Elderly Noah ("Duke") goes to Allie's room to find her lucid again. Allie questions Noah about what will happen to them when she loses her memory completely, and he reassures her that he will never leave her. She asks him if he thinks their love for each other is strong enough to "take them away together"; he replies that he thinks their love could do anything. After telling each other that they love one another, they both go to sleep in Allie's bed. The next morning, a nurse finds them dead in each other's arms.

Production
Work began in March 1996, when the first screenwriter was hired to write the first draft and script, but it did not get off the ground as the studios wanted the film to be closer to the book. Another writer wrote a draft, but several years passed as they wanted several changes. Then Nick Cassavetes came aboard.

Casting
Cassavetes wanted someone unknown and "not handsome" to portray Noah; therefore, he cast Ryan Gosling in the role.Gosling was initially surprised by this: "I read [the script] and I thought, 'He's crazy. I couldn't be more wrong for this movie."It gave me an opportunity to play a character over a period of time - from 1940 to 1946 - that was quite profound and formative."To prepare for the part, Gosling temporarily moved to Charleston, South Carolina prior to filming. During two months, he rowed the Ashley River and made furniture.A nationwide search was conducted to find the right actress to play Allie, and Rachel McAdams was ultimately chosen. On casting her, Cassavetes said: "When Rachel McAdams came in and read, it was apparent that she was the one. She and Ryan had great chemistry between them." She commented: "I thought it would be a dream to be able to do it. I read the script and went into the audition just two days later. It was a good way to do it, because I was very full of the story." In comparison to the book, the role was extended.McAdams spent time in Charleston before filming to familiarize herself with the surroundings, and took ballet and etiquette classes.

Loving Quotes Biography

Mildred Loving was born on July 22, 1939 in Central Point, Va. She was of African-American and Native American descent and-in marrying Richard Loving, who was white--violated Virginia's Racial Integrity Act. The couple were ordered to leave the state but Robert Kennedy and the ACLU helped the Lovings strike down Virginia's law in the US Supreme Court. Mildreddied in 2008.

Profile
Activist. Born Mildred Delores Jeter on July 22, 1939, in Central Point, Virginia. The shy, somewhat soft-spoken Mildred became a reluctant activist in the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s when she and her husband, Richard Loving, successfully challenged Virginia's ban on interracial marriage.
Her mother was part Rappahannock Indian and her father was part Cherokee. Throughout her life, Mildred referred to herself as Indian rather than black. Mildred's family had deep roots in the area around Central Point, a part of Virginia, which even at the height of the Jim Crow era, had developed a reputation as a place where race relations were fairly friendly.
The girl who was so skinny that she was nicknamed "Bean" was just 11 years old and attending an all-black school when she first met Richard Loving, a 17-year-old high school student. Quietly, the two eventually started dating and, when Mildred became pregnant at the age of 18, the two decided to get married.
Barred from marrying in their home state, the couple drove 90 miles north to Washington, D.C. to tie the knot. They'd been married just a few weeks, living in Central Point, when in the early morning hours of July 11, 1958, the county sheriff, acting on an anonymous tip that the Lovings were in violation of the law, stormed into the couple's bedroom with a pair of deputies.
"Who is this woman you're sleeping with?" the sheriff asked the startled Richard Loving. Mildred offered up the answer: "I'm his wife." When she pointed out the couple's marriage certificate hanging on the wall, the sheriff coldly replied, "That's no good here."
Richard ended up spending a night in jail, the pregnant Mildred several more, and the couple eventually pleaded guilty to violating Virginia's Racial Integrity Act of 1924, which recognized citizens as "pure white" only if they could claim white lineage all the way back to 1684. The Lovings' one-year sentences were suspended, but the plea bargain came with a price: The couple was ordered to leave the state and not return together for 25 years.
"Almighty God created the races white, white, black, yellow, malay and red, and he placed them on separate continents," Judge Leon M. Bazile ruled. "And but for the interference with his arrangement there would be no cause for such marriages. The fact that he separated the races shows that he did not intend for the races to mix."The Lovings followed orders. They paid their court fees; relocated to Washington, D.C.; had three children; and only rarely made separate return visits to see friends and family.
But by 1963, the Lovings decided they'd had enough. The Civil Rights movement was blossoming into real change in America, and with a sense, perhaps, that this new era might lead the Lovings back to their old life in Virginia, Mildred wrote Attorney General Robert Kennedy to ask for his assistance.
Kennedy wrote back and referred the Lovings to the American Civil Liberties Union (A.C.L.U.), which took on the couple as clients. The A.C.L.U.'s two lawyers for the couple, Bernard S. Cohen and Philip J. Hirschkop, appealed the Lovings' case to the Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals. For Richard Loving, the argument to be made was a simple one: "Tell the court I love my wife, and it is just unfair that I can't live with her in Virginia." When that court upheld the original ruling, the case went to the United States Supreme Court.
On June 12, 1967, the high court agreed, unanimously coming down in favor of the Lovings, striking down Virginia's law and allowing and the couple to return home. "I feel free," Richard is reported to have said after the ruling.Richard and Mildred soon moved back to Virginia, returning to Caroline County, where they built a home and raised their kids. Tragically, Richard was killed in an automobile accident in 1975, when his car was struck by another vehicle operated by a drunk driver. Mildred, who was also in the car, lost sight in her right eye.
In the years following her high-profile court battle, Mildred Loving did her best to put the past behind her, refusing most interview requests to talk about the case. A 1996 Showtime movie sparked renewed interest in the Lovings' life, as did a 2004 book, but Mildred continued to shy away from the attention.
"What happened, we really didn't intend for it to happen," she said in a 1992 interview. "What we wanted, we wanted to come home."
Still, there's little doubt about Mildred and Richard's legacy. There's an unofficial holiday celebrating their triumph and multiculturalism, called Loving Day (June 12). More importantly, the prohibition against mixed race marriages has been stripped out of every state constitution.Mildred Loving passed away from pneumonia on May 2, 2008, at the age of 68.

Free Love Quotes Definition

Source:- Google.com.pk

Free love is a social movement that rejects marriage, which is seen as a form of social and financial bondage. The Free Love movement's initial goal was to separate the state from sexual matters such as marriage, birth control, and adultery. It claimed that such issues were the concern of the people involved, and no one else.
Much of the free-love tradition is an offshoot of anarchism, and reflects a libertarian philosophy that seeks freedom from state regulation and church interference in personal relationships. According to this concept, the free unions of adults are legitimate relations which should be respected by all third parties whether they are emotional or sexual relations. In addition, some free-love writing has argued that both men and women have the right to sexual pleasure without social or legal restraints. In the Victorian era, this was a radical notion. Later, a new theme developed, linking free love with radical social change, and depicting it as a harbinger of a new anti-authoritarian, anti-repressive sensibility.
Most people until the late 20th century believed that marriage was an important aspect of life to "fulfil earthly human happiness." According to today's stereotype, earlier middle-class Americans wanted the home to be a place of stability in an uncertain world. To this mentality are attributed strongly defined gender roles, which led to a minority reaction in the form of the free love movement.
While the phrase free love is often associated with promiscuity in the popular imagination, especially in reference to the counterculture of the 1960s and 1970s, historically the free-love movement has not advocated multiple sexual partners or short-term sexual relationships. Rather, it has argued that love relations that are freely entered into should not be regulated by law.
The term "sex radical" is also used interchangeably with the term "free lover", and was the preferred term by advocates because of the negative connotations of "free love".By whatever name, advocates had two strong beliefs: opposition to the idea of forceful sexual activity in a relationship and advocacy for a woman to use her body in any way that she pleases.
Laws of particular concern to free love movements have included those that prevent an unmarried couple from living together, and those that regulate adultery and divorce, as well as age of consent, birth control, homosexuality, abortion, and sometimes prostitution; although not all free love advocates agree on these issues. The abrogation of individual rights in marriage is also a concern—for example, some jurisdictions do not recognize spousal rape or treat it less seriously than non-spousal rape. Free-love movements since the 19th century have also defended the right to publicly discuss sexuality and have battled obscenity laws.
In 1857, Francis Barry wrote that "marriage is a system of rape," stating that the woman is a victim where she can do nothing but be oppressed by her husband, as he tortures her in her home, which becomes a house of bondage. In one of his articles, Barry wrote:
'The Object of this [women’s emancipation] Society,’ according to Article 2 of its [free love] constitution, ‘shall be to secure absolute freedom to woman, through the overthrow of the popular system of marriage. At the turn of the 20th century, some free-love proponents extended the critique of marriage to argue that marriage as a social institution encourages emotional possessiveness and psychological enslavement.

Historical precedents
A number of utopian social movements throughout history have shared a vision of free love. The all-male Essenes, who lived in the Middle East from the 1st century BC to the 1st century AD apparently shunned sex, marriage, and slavery. They also renounced wealth, lived communally, and were pacifist vegetarians. An early Christian sect known as the Adamites—which flourished in North Africa in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th centuries—also rejected marriage. They practised nudism while engaging in worship and considered themselves free of original sin.
In the 6th century, adherents of Mazdakism in pre-Muslim Persia apparently supported a kind of free love in the place of marriage, and like many other free-love movements, also favored vegetarianism, pacificism, and communalism. Some writers have posited a conceptual link between the rejection of private property and the rejection of marriage as a form of ownership[citation needed]. One folk story from the period that contains a mention of a free-love (and nudist) community under the sea is "The Tale of Abdullah the Fisherman and Abdullah the Merman" from The Book of One Thousand and One Nights (c. 8th century).
Karl Kautsky, writing in 1895, noted that a number of "communistic" movements throughout the Middle Ages also rejected marriage.Typical of such movements, the Cathars of 10th to 14th century Western Europe freed followers from all moral prohibition and religious obligation, but respected those who lived simply, avoided the taking of human or animal life, and were celibate. Women had an uncommon equality and autonomy, even as religious leaders. The Cathars and similar groups (the Waldenses, Apostle brothers, Beghards and Beguines, Lollards, and Hussites) were branded as heretics by the Roman Catholic Church and suppressed. Other movements shared their critique of marriage but advocated free sexual relations
rather than celibacy, such as the Brethren of the Free Spirit, Taborites, and Picards.

Mother Love Quotes for Him Tumblr for Her and Sayings Tagalog Images Wallpapers Photos

Mother Love Quotes Definition

Source:- Google.com.pk

Dictionary Definition of a mother is a female parent, but a mother is more than just a parent. She is her children’s best friend. A mother is someone who loves you unconditionally and more than life itself.  Mothers are angels in disguise sent from God to watch and help us through our troublesome times. We hardly stop to think of how they feel and if they need help, we abuse them in a sense by not appreciating them enough. The definition for love is a great liking or affection. But love is something stronger. Love doesn’t give up, doesn’t have a swelled head and doesn’t force itself on others. Love isn’t jealous, is always forgiving and without love, we are nothing. A mother’s love is a bond that connects us together, even before birth. It is stronger than any feeling of hate or fury. Love takes on everything, even if it can’t carry it all. Mothers may seem just like ordinary people, but they are really super heroes in disguise! They show their love in a million different ways every day.
Every mother has a moment in her life where she remembers every detail. She remembers the date, time, and place for the rest of her life multiplied by how many children she has. It is the moment when she gave birth to her child. At that moment, she makes a promise to herself and her child that she would be a good mother. A mother has many defining traits, unconditional love, support, and being a good role model.
A mother has a never-ending supply of unconditional love. A child could destroy her most prized possession, but she will still have a smile on her face because her child is safe. Often, when a child gets upset one says and does hurtful things, and yet a mother forgives and forgets. A mother's child grows and becomes an adult, and one might make decisions she might not agree with, but she will still love her child and be there when needed. No matter what, a mother will always have unconditional love for her child.
A child needs support in a variety of ways, and a mother is there to offer all of the support needed. Of course, a mother is there to support her child financially as best she can; she will always provide for her child to the best of her ability. A mother also provides the emotional support that her child needs; she is always there when her child may need a kiss on an injury, or simply an extra hug as they get off the bus. Without the support of a mother a child may squander through life never living up to his or her full potential.
Since children learn by example, it is important for a mother to be a good role model. A mother will show respect to her family, friends, and strangers; by showing all of them respect she teaches her children to be respectful. When a mother stands up for what she believes in, it gives her child strength and confidence to be an independent individual. A mother will always be responsible for her actions and admit mistakes when she makes them.  Every child needs a good role model to look up to and a mother is just that.
Children learn what they live, so when they are exposed to unconditional love, support, and a good role model, that is who they become. A mother can see her success of being a good mother in the product of her child. A mother creates loving, supportive, and stand-up people; that is what every mother wants her child to become. No matter how much we hurt and irritate and don’t appreciate our mothers, they still love us no matter what. They accept us for who we are even though we aren’t necessarily the best people we could be. A mother is someone who would jump in a fire just to make sure you have what you need, will run a thousand miles just to get you what you want. Once our mothers are gone there is no shoulder left to cry on, no one to blame for our mistakes, no one to make us our favorite chocolate cake and no one there to ask how our day was.And the only reward a mother wants at the end of the day is the simple words, I Love You.
A mother is the sweetest woman, an angel from heaven, most revered, honoured and respected on earth. She is a font and spring of our life, our consolation in sorrow, our hope in misery, our strength in weakness. No language can express the power, beauty, heroism and majesty of a mother’s love which does not shrink where man cowers but grows stronger where man faints and over the wastes of worldly fortune sends the radiance of its quenchless fidelity like a star in heaven. God bless our Mothers for wanting us, loving us and giving us the joy of life and a lifetime caring.
It is a common saying that Mother has been created by God because He cannot reach all places..! That is why mother is the best gift from God to everyone. The heart of a mother is like a rare jewel. She loves her children during the worst and the best of times. If life is a journey, mothers give their offspring a road map and the confidence to make it. A mother’s love is the greatest love in this world, unconditional and priceless. I enjoyed this article very much, dear Jessy Aunty, and I thank you for sharing your mother’s heart with us. I am sure that your mother is very proud and truly blessed.
No words can describe the role played by a mother. My mom is my closest friend and she is also an enthusiastic teacher and in my inner heart I can forever feel the warmth of her strong love. She takes good care of me including my emotional and basic physical needs. I am very proud to have her as my beloved mother because she makes me feel as though I am the happiest and the luckiest person in this world..! I thank God eternally for giving me my Mom as the best gift to me in my life.

 Valentine Love Quotes About

Source:- Google.com.pk

Saint Valentine's Day, also known as Valentine's Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine,is observed on February 14 each year. It is celebrated in many countries around the world, although it remains a working day in most of them.St. Valentine's Day began as a liturgical celebration of one or more early Christian saints named Valentinus. The most popular martyrology associated with Saint Valentine was that he was imprisoned for performing weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry and for ministering to Christians, who were persecuted under the Roman Empire. During his imprisonment, he is said to have healed the daughter of his jailer, Asterius. Legend states that before his execution he wrote her a letter "from your Valentine" as a farewell.Today, Saint Valentine's Day is an official feast day in the Anglican Communion,as well as in the Lutheran Church. The Eastern Orthodox Church also celebrates Saint Valentine's Day, albeit on July 6th and
July 30th, the former date in honor of the Roman presbyter Saint Valentine, and the latter date in honor of Hieromartyr Valentine, the Bishop of Interamna (modern Terni). In Brazil, the Dia de São Valentim is recognized on June 12.
The day was first associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished. In 18th-century England, it evolved into an occasion in which lovers expressed their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as "valentines"). Valentine's Day symbols that are used today include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten valentines have given way to mass-produced greeting cards.

Historical Facts
Numerous early Christian martyrs were named Valentine. The Valentines honored on February 14 are Valentine of Rome (Valentinus presb. m. Romae) and Valentine of Terni (Valentinus ep. Interamnensis m. Romae), although emphasis is generally given to the life of Valentine of Rome.Valentine of Rome was a priest in Rome who was martyred about AD 269 and was buried on the Via Flaminia. The flower-crowned skull of St Valentine is exhibited in the Basilica of Santa Maria in Cosmedin, Rome.
Other relics are found in the Basilica of Santa Prassede, also in Rome, as well as at Whitefriar Street Carmelite Church in Dublin, Ireland.Valentine of Terni became bishop of Interamna (modern Terni) about AD 197 and is said to have been martyred during the persecution under Emperor Aurelian. He is also buried on the Via Flaminia, but in a different location than Valentine of Rome. His relics are at the Basilica of Saint Valentine in Terni (Basilica di San Valentino).
Jack B. Oruch states that "abstracts of the acts of the two saints were in nearly every church and monastery of Europe."The Catholic Encyclopedia also speaks of a third saint named Valentine who was mentioned in early martyrologies under date of February 14. He was martyred in Africa with a number of companions, but nothing more is known about him.Saint Valentine's head was preserved in the abbey of New Minster, Winchester, and venerated.
February 14 is celebrated as St Valentine's Day in various Christian denominations; it has, for example, the rank of 'commemoration' in the calendar of saints in the Anglican Communion. In addition, the feast day of Saint Valentine is also given in the calendar of saints of the Lutheran Church. However, in the 1969 revision of the Roman Catholic Calendar of Saints, the feast day of Saint Valentine on February 14 was removed from the General Roman Calendar and relegated to particular (local or even national) calendars for the following reason: "Though the memorial of Saint Valentine is ancient, it is left to particular calendars, since, apart from his name, nothing is known of Saint Valentine except that he was buried on the Via Flaminia on February 14."The feast day is still celebrated in Balzan (Malta) where relics of the saint are claimed to be found, and also throughout the world by Traditionalist Catholics who follow the older, pre-Second Vatican
Council calendar. In the Eastern Orthodox Church, St. Valentine's Day is celebrated on July 6th, in which Saint Valentine, the Roman presbyter, is honoured; furthermore, the Eastern Orthodox Church obsesrves the feast of Hieromartyr Valentine, Bishop of Interamna, on July 30th.

Legends
Bishop Demetri of the Orthodox Research Institute, in a keynote address, states that "St. Valentine was a priest near Rome in about the year 270 A.D, a time when the church was enduring great persecution. His ministry was to help the Christians to escape this persecution, and to provide them the sacraments, such as marriage, which was outlawed by the Roman Empire at that time." Contemporary records of Saint Valentine were most probably destroyed during the Diocletianic Persecution on early 4th century. In the 5th or 6th century, a work called Passio Marii et Marthae published a story of martyrdom for Saint Valentine of Rome, perhaps by borrowing tortures that happened to other saints, as it was usually made in the literature of that period. The same events are also found in Bede's Martyrology, which was compiled in the 8th century.
It states that St Valentine was persecuted as a Christian and interrogated by Roman Emperor Claudius II in person.
